Boris Nets began supplying the Scottish Fish farming industry in 1984.
Today our designs and products are in use at many locations worldwide including Europe, Mexico, Africa and the Caribbean.
Our cages are manufactured to the highest of standards using innovative designs materials and technical information gathered throughout over 30 years of working hand in hand with our large customer base.
We supply many of the established Fish farming companies with many products Including large offshore cages built to withstand the heaviest of weather conditions, fresh water cages, anti-bird nets, anti-predator nets including full enclosure screens, sweep nets lice tarpaulin all of which are produced in our Fleetwood factory. Using European manufactured netting ensures high quality and enables a reliable delivery schedule.
To complement our netting range, we have opened a division supplying chain, net buoys, floats and a wide range of iron work. Our stock of rope starts at 6mm diameter up to 64mm diameter in twisted and larger diameter in braided all of which is sourced from leading manufacturers.
For many species including salmon sea bass and sea bream.
The cage nets are manufactured from nylon, polyester, Dyneema and HDPE depending on customer requirements. The netting is usually hand mounted to UV stabilised polysteel ropes, of various diameters from 12mm up to 28mm depending on cage size and environmental conditions.
Hand mounting is used on heavy weather cage nets because there is a much greater control of the ratio of rope to netting.
All ropes are hand spliced, with either loops or rings on the top ropes. Hand holds, if required, can be fitted on all vertical ropes.
For salmon and trout.
As for sea cage nets the cage nets are manufactured from nylon or Dyneema depending on customer requirements. The netting is usually hand mounted to UV stabilised polysteel ropes, of various diameters from 12mm up to 18mm depending on cage size and environmental conditions.
Hand mounting is in our opinion essential on Dyneema cage nets because there is a much greater control of the ratio of rope to netting.
All ropes are hand spliced, with either loops or rings on the top ropes. Hand holds, if required, can be fitted on all vertical ropes.
Submerged Anti-Predator Nets for diving birds, seals and other species mesh sizes include 45mm, 75mm, 100mm & 200mm.
These are made from a high quality semi porous nylon or polyester material. Boris Nets can supply either curtains of enclosed bags.
